Six Months Old!

It is so hard to believe that our little "Tooty" is six months old. Yes, that is what we call her. She is probably never going to answer to Emme or Emerson. We had a great doctor's visit Friday afternoon (besides those dreadful shots). She is 26 inches, weighs 18.6, and has a head circumference of 92%. We talked about her moving into stage two foods and separation anxiety. She has really started that, especially at home. If I walk into another room, she goes bonkers. It is not really happening at day care yet, but we will see. I am not going to complain though. She has been an absolute dream.

Emerson cut her first tooth!!!

We went to Lebanon on Sunday to visit Pebby and Papa D. Pebby cooked a wonderful breakfast. Abby and Shanda were in Chicago for Abby's birthday and Kurt and Sam were enjoying a weekend without their girls. So Pebby got a lot of one on one with Em. They played and played on the yoga mat while Landon and I were nodding off (he in the recliner and myself on the couch). During our visit we got to talking about when Em would cut her first tooth and I was telling Pebby that I had been checking every day. I just happen to put my hand in Emerson's mouth and low and behold we felt her first tooth!!!! It is slowly coming up on the bottom left. I was speechless. I was almost in tears. She has been such a trooper. She was not herself last week, so I guess that was a precursor of what was to come. In all of our excitement we still had one more stop to make. We went to see Emerson's boyfriend Jack Walker Beasley. This was their first official meeting. For all of you that do not know Landon and Kent (Jack Walker's Daddy) are the best of friends. When we found out Kent and Julie were expecting Landon just thought that they were going to have a girl, but nope. He was born October 31 and has his eyes set on Emerson (As Kent says and much to Landon's dismay). We had a wonderful visit and it looks like Em and Jack Walker are going to have many play dates in the future. We were on such a high about Miss Em's tooth that we met Mom and Dad on the way home at Outback to celebrate that tooth. We cannot believe how much she has grown. She amazes us every single day and we cannot get enough of her. We have her six month appointment Friday so stayed tuned. We love you all.

Friday night at Grandaddy and BeBe's

Last weekend started off great! We ended up getting a snow day for the cold weather on Friday, so I had a four day weekend. We had planned for Mom and Dad to keep her Friday night so Landon and I could have a date, but that goofball forgot to tell me that he had to work that night. Mom and Dad still kept her and I went to dinner to catch up with Whitney. Emerson had a ball at Mom and Dad's as you can see in the pictures. Landon and I went to pick her up and Saturday we went to Bekah and Gregg's. Bekah made a wonderful dinner and we enoyed ourselves very much.

I apologize. I am so behind updating my blog. It has been a crazy three weeks. Emerson had another bad cold and the next week we found out that she had double ear infections. To top it off, Landon and I are recovering from Bronchitis and ear infections too. But the holidays were bittersweet with Em. I cannot believe that she is almost six months. She is such a beauty and a little ham. I went to pick her up from school today and she was in the swing, sitting up, not laying back. She is just like her mom and cousin Mina and cannot miss a thing. I promise I am taking a camera to see if she is doing it tomorrow.

Back to the holidays. We went to Meme and Pop's the weekend before Christmas and had a ball. It was nice not having to get up and rush to get ready on Christmas day, which is all I have known for 28 years. It was a little sad not to do the norm, but I think everyone adjusted.

Christmas Eve we went back to Meme and Pop's to the Barn and had our get together with Mom's side of the fam. It was a great location about half way for all of us. It still feels like something is missing without Nana, Aunt Brenda, and Chris' dad not there, but we had a wonderful time. (I do not have any pics yet from then, they are on Mom's camera, sorry Mina, I will get them on here!) Like I said Em had double ear infections and Christmas Eve she stayed up until 2:30 a.m. SCREAMING! Landon and I were about in tears ourselves. We told E that Santa would not be coming to our house.
Christmas morning (although exhausted) Mom and Dad came over and Landon (the master chef) cooked an amazing breakfast. Then we opened presents. Mom and Dad got Em a high chair which is great. We needed it! Mom and Dad stayed all day and let Lando and I nap.

Christmas night is when we go to Lebanon. Em and I stayed home, she was just not herself and I was working my way to Bronchitis. Landon went and called us three times so everyone could check on us and say hello. We missed everyone so much. Em got a lot of toys and clothes and we were very excited.

Landon and I got a video camera for each other for Christmas. Bear with me, I am trying to figure out how to work it. I am going to have to get Misty over here to help me. She is so great with things like that. So I hope to have some videos soon!

All in all our holiday was great. We are so blessed to have a happy, healthy little girl. We cannot wait until next year!
